General Terms
By accessing or using Bhukamp Disaster Early Vigilante (BhuDEV) (formerly Uttarakhand Bhookamp Alert), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to the BhuDEV mobile application, website, alerts, safety information, and related services provided by Earthquake Early Warning System (EEWS) Lab, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee.
BhuDEV is intended to support earthquake early warning, safety awareness, and post-event response reporting. It is not a substitute for official instructions issued by government, disaster management, police, fire, medical, or other emergency authorities. You should always follow instructions from competent authorities and use your own judgment during an emergency.
License
BhuDEV grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, access, and use the Service strictly in accordance with these Terms. You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, public-safety, awareness, and emergency-response purposes.
These Terms are a contract between you and BhuDEV (referred to as "BhuDEV", "we", "us" or "our"), the provider of the BhuDEV website, mobile application, alerts, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Use Of The Service
You agree to use the Service responsibly and only for lawful purposes. You should keep your mobile number, emergency contact details, device settings, notification permission, location permission, internet connectivity, and operating system updated as required for the proper functioning of the App.
You understand that some features may not work correctly if permissions are denied, notifications are disabled, the device is offline, the device clock is incorrect, battery restrictions are active, location services are disabled, or the operating system or device manufacturer restricts background activity.
Emergency Alerts And Safety Use
BhuDEV may send critical earthquake alerts, silent alerts, mock drill notifications, false alarm notifications, informational messages, and safety guidance. Critical alerts may show an emergency alert screen, warning audio, a countdown timer, and Safe/Help options when the alert is fresh and technically valid for emergency warning.
Delayed earthquake alerts may show only Safe/Help response options without emergency warning audio or timer. Alerts that are too old, invalid, duplicated, or already handled may be ignored or may update an existing alert session instead of restarting the alert.
Earthquake early warning is an automated and time-sensitive system. Alerts may be delayed, missed, duplicated, updated, withdrawn, or false due to sensor data, earthquake characteristics, network conditions, Firebase Cloud Messaging delivery, device settings, operating system behavior, server conditions, or other technical factors.
Safe/Help And Emergency Dialer
When you select "I Am Safe" or "I Need Help", the App may send your response, mobile number, relevant alert details, and location information where available to support safety reporting and possible response coordination. If your device is offline or has poor connectivity, the App may temporarily queue the response and retry sending it for a limited period.
When you select "I Need Help", the App may also open your phone dialer with the emergency number 112 entered. The App does not automatically place the call. You must manually press the call button if you wish to call emergency services.
BhuDEV and EEWS Lab, IIT Roorkee will make reasonable efforts to support emergency response reporting, but rescue, call connection, response time, and assistance cannot be guaranteed.
